

William T. Reddy, 82 of Toms River, NJ peacefully passed away early Friday morning May 25, 2012 at his home. William or “Billy” as he was affectionately known, is survived by his wife Patricia “Patty” Reddy of 56 years, a sister Mary Annette Larson of Georgia, sister-in-law Gladys Gorman of Lodi; four children; Brian, Kerri Ann, Kelli and Brendon; eight grandchildren; Patrick, Kevin, Michael, William, Kelsey, Katielynn, Brian and Cory; a great grandchild Charlee Kate and many nieces and nephews.
William was born November 2, 1930 in Jersey City to Catherine Mary Murphy and Thomas V. Reddy, now wince deceased. After growing up in the Bronx, William relocated to Jackson, NJ where he and Patricia raised their family for 42 years before finally settling in Toms River in 2002. Prior to his retirement in 1984, William spent 35 years working as a Supervising Engineer for the New York Telephone company. An Army veteran, William was stationed in Japan from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. William was a parishioner of St. Veronica’s Church for 42 years and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus in Jackson.
Viewings will be held Thursday May 31 at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755 between 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 1st at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
