

Passed away at his Ottawa home April 8, 2016 in his 72nd year. He had been in failing health for some time.
Alden was born in Windsor, N.S. and moved to Toronto in the 1970s. He graduated from Hants West Rural High School and also attended Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. He was fond of music, especially country and western, and was a lead singer with a local band in Hants County during his teenage years. He was a self-taught guitar player as well. Alden’s working career included a few years with the Ontario provincial civil service and he retired after more than 30 years with the income security department of the federal civil service. He was an avid follower of sports on television and enjoyed 10-pin bowling as a participant.
Alden is survived by sister Trisha, Montreal; brothers Doug (Helen), North Bay; Carl (Carol), Toronto; Malcolm (Sharon), Guelph; Clarence, Montreal.
He leaves behind daughters Trisha Nicole Johnson, Claudine Fiona Sampson and Tennille Jessie Johnson of Richmond, Hill, On; Tavia Mae Johnson, Hamilton; Jessica Ruth Luke, Toronto; and sons Keith Carvery, Toronto and Scott Allison, Windsor, N.S.; 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother, Beatrice Mae Johnson and sister Barbara of Halifax
A private graveside service was held April 12 at York cemetery, North York.
