Aldith Evene Gill, age 80, was born on May 26, 1945, in Kingston, Jamaica. She was called home on April 13, 2026. She will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and by those whose lives were quietly strengthened by her steady presence and generous spirit.
Aldith worked as a Apex Officer, bringing diligence and care to her work—someone others could rely on, not only for accuracy, but for the considerate way she carried responsibility. In the many ordinary moments that make up a life, she was devoted in the ways that matter most: showing up, looking after others, and offering kindness without fanfare.
A woman of faith, Aldith was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Her faithfulness was not merely spoken, but lived—anchoring her days with purpose and guiding the way she treated people, with warmth, patience, and a sincere, kind-hearted grace.
She was also an avid reader, drawn to the quiet companionship of books and the lifelong habit of learning through them. As an enthusiastic member, treasurer and above all past student and friend to the Ardenne Past Student Association. Aldith's commitment, dedication and compassion will be greatly missed.
Aldith was an excellent Avon Representative, always in the latest styles and fashion. She carried herself with a distinct sense of style, often outfitted in her Signature "BLUE" Tones—an Elegant, familiar touch that those who loved her will remember with tenderness. She was often known to say she was 5' 1" and a half,... (And don't forget the half).
Aldith, also known as DITTY, lived in Vaughan, Ontario. She leaves behind her loving children: Rodney, Lisa, and Aisha. She was also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Cosmo, Simone, Montaqúe, Kyle, and Daivin, who were truly her pride and joy.
Visitation will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M2M 4K4, CA, on May 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes on May 1, 2026, at 11:00 am.
The Celebration of Aldith's Life continues at William Lyon MacKenzie Co-Operative Centre at 299 Mullen Drive Unit 92 1/2 in Thornhill from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
In honouring Aldith’s life and the faith that sustained her, the words of Scripture offer a fitting tribute: 2 Timothy 4:7 — “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
