In memory of my late father's (William Marfoe's) dear cousin and most importantly, his close friend; during my childhood years in Trinidad.  Uncle Aldwyn's family and our family shared many memories.  I spent much of my early childhood growing up with Edison and Donna.  Our families shared vacations together.  (Especially our trip to Tobago back in the day.)

My heart felt condolences to the Marhin family.  I have lost a dear Uncle.  My family has lost a close friend.  Aldwyn was a father of four and will be dearly missed.  

Thank you for sharing the many wonderful moments and memories in my younger days Uncle Aldwyn.  They will never be forgotten.  Rest in Peace.

When I came to Canada, it was Uncle Aldwyn’s unwritten rule to call me each Sunday after dinner, He would ask how I spent the week and whether I got any news from Trinidad; so I will update him with whatever was new with the family or the country.  If there wasn’t much news , he would discuss the grocery specials, or  if he was in a chatty mood he would describe growing up in China and  his school he was so proud of  and the history of Marlay & Co,  in  Sangre Grande, Monte Cristo Estates, just the good old days.  Even if these stories were said over and over, I never grew tired of listening to them.  I was happy to learn of my heritage and the past.  As Uncle Aldwyn’s hearing faded so too did the length of our Sunday nights’ chats, eventually they were just hello, how are you and goodbye.  
Uncle Aldwyn  I still miss the chats but I will always remember them. May you Rest in Eternal Peace

On behalf of the Chung family and myself, I would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of your dad. He was uncle Aldwyn to us. We were neighbors in El Carmen Street Arima separated only by a galvanized fence. Our mom and his wife Helen whom we called aunty Kitchen were close friends. Fond memories of going to the beach in Manzanilla with uncle Aldwyn and the family. I spent one summer vacation working in the hardware store in Sangre Grande and I remember him looking out for me. He was always upright and distinguished dressed in a white shirt and black pants when he went to work. His hair was never out of place and he always had a smile.

Mr. Marhin was one of the kindest and gentlest people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. He lived a remarkable life and was part of a lovely family. He will always be remembered and be missed.
