1941-2025
It is with heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved Bonnie, who passed away suddenly on January 23, 2025, at the age of 84. She leaves behind her son, Steven (Marni), and her daughter, Saundra (Bryan). She was predeceased by her son, Jeff. Bonnie was a devoted grandmother to her four cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Liam, Evan (Stephanie), and Brittany.
She is also deeply loved and remembered by her sister, Judy; her brothers, Gar (Judy) and Sid (Carolyn); her nieces, Robin and Wendy; and her nephews, Cam (Debbie) and Jordan, along with their families. Bonnie’s warmth, kindness, and loving spirit will be forever cherished by all who were fortunate to know her.
Bonnie was born in Toronto in 1941 to Donald Stevens and Mary L. Jenkins. After graduating from High School, she pursued her studies at a Dental College. Following graduation, Bonnie began working as a dental nurse at a dental office in downtown Toronto, where she met her beloved husband, Dr. Warren Heaslip, who had taken over the family practice from his father. They married in 1962 and settled in North York. After their children had grown and left home, they moved to their cottage on Grass Lake. Several years later, they purchased a home in Sauble Beach, a cherished vacation spot where the family had spent every summer. Their final move brought them back to familiar surroundings, returning to the same neighborhood in North York.
More than anything, Bonnie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nothing delighted her more than seeing their smiles and being there for them in every way. Her love was selfless, her support unwavering, and her dedication to her loved ones truly extraordinary. Anyone who met Bonnie was quick to say what a kind and wonderful person she was.
Bonnie’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and in the kindness she shared. She taught us what it means to love deeply and to hold faith close to our hearts. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, dear mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mom, Dad has been patiently waiting for you in his beautiful garden—ready to share a cold glass of iced tea and a butter tart.
A service to celebrate her life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday August 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Kane Jerrett North York Chapel, (6191 Yonge St. Toronto) and she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband and son at Sauble Beach.
