Dearly loved, and loving husband of Miriam for 56 years.
Charlie’s legacy of family love, respect and compassion is cherished by his daughters: Carolyn (David Campbell), Erin (Jon Gill), Allison (Craig Hunter), and his grandchildren: Holly, (Desmond Peacock), and Spencer Campbell, Taylor Gill, Ryan, Jenna and Sarah Hunter.
Charlie passed away, peacefully, with Miriam by his side, on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Sherwood Court Long Term Care Centre in Maple, Ontario, at the age of 83. He is predeceased by his brother: John Fick and survived by his brother: Lewis (Shirley) Fick.
Charlie always felt that his life had been enriched by his immediate, and extended family, his friends, and his educational colleagues. A graduate of Oakwood Collegiate and Victoria College, University of Toronto, Charlie held positions as: Teacher, Principal, and Assistant Area Superintendent for the North York Board of Education (1953-1985).
The family wishes to thank the management and staff of Sherwood Court for the care, love, compassion, support and kindness they provided. They are an extraordinary group of people who are a shining example of the quality of care that is possible at the end of life.
There will be a private family Committal Service. A Service in celebration of his life will be held at Thornhill United Church, 25 Elgin Street, Thornhill, Ontario on: Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or Thornhill United Church.
