Lynn Maxwell and Marion Boyle first met Vi in the late 1970s at Fern Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. We continued this fraternity at Richmond Hill Chapter and Lily of the Valley Court, Order of the Amaranth.
Vi was SO supportive of these organizations whether it was meetings or fundraisers.
We missed her when she was no longer able to attend functions.
Our prayers are with her family whom she loved dearly.

My beautiful Auntie Vi will always be on my mind. Great memories will last forever. Shopping at Honest Ed’s, Towers, Spending weekends at Wasaga Beach, visiting our wonderful families, Trips to Churchill Falls, Burin NL and many other local trips to Niagara Falls, Casa Loma plus many more special outings. RIP Auntie Vi.

A beautiful soul gone to join her parents and her siblings.  She was a loved aunt who never forgot anyone's birthday. .... and always inquired about how each family member was doing.  RIP Aunt Vi.  Your have earned your angel wings.




Our dear Aunt Vi is at peace now.  Her Newfoundland family has so many precious memories of her.  The distance did not keep us apart.  Ed, Colin, Brian and I spent a week with her and Uncle Lew back around 1985.  The day we were leaving she gave me a beautiful cup and saucer as a souvenir from 12 Ashbury.  I will be using this cup and saucer on the day she is laid to rest, as a token of my love for her.
I am sending a donation of 50.00 to Arthritis Society  in her memory..  Linda  Ed and family.

The world has lost a very special person. No longer with us physically but her spirit will remain in the hearts and memories of every one of us who knew and loved her. She had such an incredible energy and spirit that made you always feel like everything would be ok when she was around. Never without a smile.
Inside we are all blessed with many special memories of Auntie Vi, unique for every one of us which is what will make those memories all the more special as we reminice. I will be forever thankful for the kind words and guidance she provided me that helped me to become the person I am today. Her endless smiles, laugh, gentle and giving personality was truly unique and one of a kind. Some would say the "Best Kind." We will always love and miss you Auntie Vi.

Auntie Vi unified the Hollett family. She celebrated the marriages and births of so many nieces and nephews. Auntie Vi always took time to build a special bond with everyone and expected nothing in return. Just like Hallmark, she celebrated all the big and small occasions in life. Our family included her on road trips to pick fruit in Niagara Falls. One year, she convinced us stop at a farm to look at kittens. Before you knew it, we were bringing home a little black kitten named Salsa. On a shopping trip to Buffalo, she bought Uncle Lew a pair of pajamas for Christmas. We even made it to a few Hallmark warehouse sales. Every year we will be reminded of Auntie Vi through the dozens of Christmas tree ornaments that she bought for us and our boys. Truly a kind and special lady. Just to spend a quiet moment with her reminded us of the importance of family. “Yes, indeed.”

My memory of Auntie Vi goes back to the wedding of her brother Arch to my sister Mary Ann. I remember her welcoming smile, her support then and all through the years, her kindness and availability to help, to encourage and to be there when needed. Her niece Linda showed her loving care through the changes that come through aging, visiting, seeking ways to comfort and to be there for her. We see that loyal family spirit coming through so strongly. It's beautiful to see!  May each of those near her be comforted and strengthened by our God at this time of her departure. Lots of fond memories of Aunt Vi. The first thing comes to mind is kindness.  The anticipation of her trips to Newfoundland growing up, and to have the privilege of the many of conversations on her front porch at 12 Ashbury. She got me a job at Hallmark and she was happy she could do so. She loved Great Burin, the home of her birth place.
