Ted passed away in his home while enjoying the Toronto Maple Leaf's game from his bed and surrounded with love.
Anyone who knows Ted, knows that he enjoyed life and lived it well. Those who had the opportunity to know him would say he was kind, generous, supportive and wise and that he touched the lives of many with each relationship having its own special meaning. Ted enjoyed many pleasures in life and when he wasn't working which seemed to be more often than not, he enjoyed attending hockey games, the theatre, fine dining and a great cup of coffee. But what meant more to him than the events he attended, was with the experience he shared and the time spent with the people he invited to go with him. Ted enjoyed gatherings of family and friends, with his favourite event of the year at his home for the annual Christmas party watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Ted was grateful for life, but most appreciative of the people in it.
Ted is survived by and will be deeply missed by his children, Colleen Brosnan and Michael Brosnan, his grandchildren Michael Brosnan and Mikaela Brosnan. He is also survived by his loving sister Patricia Smith and her husband Stephen Smith, their children, nephew Andrew Smith and his wife Karen and their children Patrick and Brendan, niece Erin Roccasalvo and her husband Sal and their children Summer and Christian. His Aunt Norma Tutty and several cousins.
Ted rejoins in eternal life his parents John and Marjory Brosnan and his brother Reginald Cottle.
He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend; and by his extended family of Alcoholics Anonymous where he made lifelong friendships and honourary family, all of whom he holds dear and with deep gratitude.
Ted's family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at North York General Hospital and to the Palliative Care Unit who made it possible for him to enjoy his last days in his home.
