Valdez), her grandchildren: Kevin Carl V. Nisperos, Excel V. Dyquiangco, Dr. Rachelle V. Dyquiangco-Ching (Dr. Gilbert Ching), Reynaldo V. Dyquiangco Jr. (Patricia Pura “Farrah” Zafra-Dyquiangco), Rhoda Mae V. Dyquiangco, Natasha Joy S. Valdez, Alessa Queen S. Valdez, Mappi Lyndon S. Valdez, Alberto Alejandro Maida-Ruiz, Nesley V. Calderon (Maribel S. Calderon), Jan Eric V. Calderon (Joanne B. Calderon), Hedrich V. Calderon, Kristofer V. Calderon (Mauilyn A. Calderon), Michael Q. Valdez, Beverly Q. Valdez-Magsino (Christopher Magsino), and, Arsenio Jay Q. Valdez, her great grandchildren: Samuel D. Ching, Joshua D. Ching, Nicole Louise Z. Dyquiangco, Beatrice Gabrielle Z. Dyquiangco, Sophia Dominique Z. Dyquiangco, Janina Ericha B. Calderon, Jeirah Eireen B. Calderon, Zenfer A. Calderon, Noah Carter V. Magsino, and Isabelle V. Magsino, She is also survived by her younger brother Francisco N. Nelmida.
Elena Nelmida Valdez rejoins in eternal life with her husband Arsenio Nigos Valdez, her grandparents Primitivo and Maria Nebrija, her parents Rosendo and Magdalena Nelmida, her siblings Virgilia Nelmida, Leodegario Nelmida, Cornelia Nelmida-Nartea, Rufino Nelmida, Faustino Nelmida, and Monico Nelmida, her daughters Rosalina Valdez-Nisperos (Carlito Nisperos-deceased) and Yolanda Valdez-Dyquiangco (Reynaldo O. Dyquiangco Sr.).
Elena Nelmida Valdez will be remembered as a loving mother who was devoted to family, especially her ability to give the best care for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved every moment she spent with them. A very generous, God-loving and prayerful person, she loves to pray for everyone she knows, relatives and friends, near or far. She will be missed so dearly.
The family would like to express deep thanks to Dr. Tammy Kauffman-Schenker and the staff at Dufferin-Steeles Medical Centre, Dr. Brian Berger and the staff at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Hill House Hospice, Richmond Hill, Ontario, for their compassionate, dedicated, and selfless care.

Funeral services will take place at St. Paschal Baylon Parish, 92 Steeles Ave. West, Thornhill, Ontario, on Friday, December 5, 2025, 9:30 AM. Entombment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, 33 Memory Gardens Lane, North York, Ontario, on December 5, 2025, 11:30AM.
Reception will follow at Dragon Pearl Buffet, 865 York Mills Rd, Unit 2, North York, Ontario, at 1:30PM.
