Eva Kover passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at the age of 85, surrounded by love and prayer.
Born in Horgos, Yugoslavia near the Hungarian border, Eva immigrated to Canada in 1965 with her husband Jeno and young son Robert, building a new life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. She worked in quality control at NTN Bearing Manufacturing Limited, taking pride in her dedication and craftsmanship.
Eva was deeply religious and found great joy in her Catholic faith, especially the music during Holy Mass at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish. She was known for her tenacity, perseverance, and bold spirit - qualities that carried her through life's challenges, including her courageous battle with cancer at age 40.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Eva cherished family traditions of Christmas, Easter, and Holy Mass. She was famous for her Hungarian cooking, homemade cakes, and sweets that filled her home with warmth and love. She loved gardening and took special joy in planting roses every spring. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and a phone call from her son Robi could brighten even her darkest days.
Eva is lovingly remembered by her son Robert, daughter Monika (Hugh), and son Bernie (Michelle), and her cherished grandchildren Lucas, Katie, and Jimmy. She was predeceased by her husband Jeno S. Kover.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, 432 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto. Burial will follow at Meadowvale Cemetery, Brampton.
