Evelyn Juan, 45, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away Saturday, August 24, among family and friends. Evelyn’s life was a living example of her faith in Jesus Christ which encouraged others as she pressed through an illness, always ready to share her faith and hope with others. From her years as a financial journalist in Manila, Dubai, Kabul, New York, Latin America and Toronto, to her recent work in PR, Evelyn was just as formidable covering a story as she was helping others to tell theirs. A marathon runner, a stand-up paddle boarder, and long-distance cyclist, she had contagious enthusiasm and joy. Ever smiling and ever serving, she always had room to add a new friend to her life. Evelyn would say how her father, Herminigildo, whom she knew for only the first 10 years of her life, prepared her to embrace her Father in heaven. Keeping her forever in our hearts is the family she cherished, her mom Fe, her sister May, brother Noel, his wife Maribelle and their children Marielle, Jikoy and CJ, and the people too numerous to count who called her friend. Visitation will take place on Friday September 6th from 2-9 p.m. at the KANE-JERRETT Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario (South of Steeles Avenue) followed by a Service in the Chapel on Saturday September 7th at 10 a.m. Private Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, an online donation can be made to one of the charities Evelyn supported for its work with families facing illness, Covenant Place Support & Renewal Org. based in Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia at [email protected].
