

Gizella Abraham Szabo, age 91, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on March 18, 2026. Born November 9, 1934, Gizella will be remembered as a faithful, generous, and loyal woman whose life reflected quiet strength and deep devotion to those she loved and served.
Gizella worked as a Personal Support Worker, offering steady care and compassion to others through her vocation.
Gizella was predeceased by her husband, Tibor, as well as her parents and brother. She is survived by her niece, Aniko, and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Attila, Christina, and Daniel, along with extended family in Serbia and around the world.
A devoted and active member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Gizella’s faith was at the centre of her life. She expressed that devotion in countless ways, including making rosaries and cooking for church fundraisers—simple, heartfelt acts that brought comfort and community to many.
The family extends sincere thanks to the many healthcare agencies who assisted with Gizella’s care, including North York General, Sunnybrook, Runnymede Rehab, and Baycrest Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 6 to 8 pm at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home 6191 Yonge Street in Toronto.
Funeral Mass will take place the following day Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 11 am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church 425 Sheppard Avenue East in Toronto. Entombment will follow at Westminster Cemetery.
