

Henry passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 4, 2026 in East York, Toronto. He is survived by his spouse of 16 years, Juliet, and his daughter, Shirley (Andrew). The youngest of eight siblings, he is also survived by his sisters Jessie, Lucy, Helen, Pansy, and brother Stephen, and is pre-deceased by sister May and brother Kenneth. Born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, Henry was the youngest of the 8 children of Fook On Yeung and Elsie Wong. Henry moved with his family to Hong Kong as a young child, then migrated to Canada in the late 1960s as part of the Hong Kong diaspora.
Henry lived a tremendously courageous life, weathering challenges with humility and unwavering devotion and loyalty to kin. He is lovingly remembered for his spiritual strength; his generosity and thoughtfulness; his energetic wit and humour; his rare gift for connecting with people from all walks of life; his abiding love of Nature and its mysteries; and his indomitable originality and freedom of spirit which, while sometimes setting him apart, carried him through the many seasons and transformations of his lifetime. Henry lived deeply and loved unconditionally. Henry is profoundly missed by his loved ones.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cathy Kamens and the staff at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care who supported Henry at end of life with exceptional kindness, clarity, and compassion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm.
