John Gerard McDonnell, age 64 of Lindsay, Ontario passed away peacefully on Thursday February 15, 2024 after a short battle with cancer at the Ottawa Hospital. John will be remembered as a person who had such a positive outlook on life. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, a very devoted family man, and proud of his Irish heritage. He worked hard for many years as a Glazier, and loved being a volunteer firefighter in the City of Kawartha Lakes. In his retirement, he enjoyed working in the community as a Kawartha Lakes bus driver. His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by everyone.
Predeceased by his father the late Mr. Austin McDonnell(Katherine), his sister the late Marie McDonnell, and his beloved son Sean McDonnell.
John is survived by his Wife, Brenda Wardulenski, and his brother Thomas (Mala), his sister Catherine (Jeff), and his Auntie Bridie.
His son Patrick (Kayla), and his daughter’s Shannon (Dominic), Vanessa (Cameron), and Krystyna. Brother in law to Grant Wardulenski (Ruth), and father-in-law to Tristian.
Dear grandfather of Aria, Paisley, Logan, Natalie, Emma, Lauren, and Landon.
Also, all the extended family and friends here in Canada, the United States, and Ireland.
A visitation for John will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M2M 4K4, followed by a funeral service from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or M.A.D.D. Canada.
