John Michael Zmud

John passed away in his sleep peacefully with his daughter Stephanie Zmud, close family friend Laura Dayle and dear cottage neighbor Sandy Mohabir at his bedside North York General Hospital Wednesday November 6 2024 after fighting numerous health issues.

He is survived by his daughter Stephanie, brother Ronald Zmud, his wife Christine & children Jennifer & Patrick Zmud.

My father is also survived by his family friends Dianne Robertson & family, Brian LeGare, Kelly McLean, Baratov family, Beverly Green & family, Wayne Ifill, Dunbar family, Tony "Peitman", Skip Kilpatrick. Ron Cooly & family, Dr. Chris Morris & Theresa Korogyi & family, Joesph Polakova & family, Jan Mackovcinova & family.

My Dad tried different careers when I was growing up from a Superintendent, Insurance adjuster and government job at Stats Canada's Yonge/St.Clair office to then going back to school at George Brown & having a great career as a furnace technician with Esso where I would drive his red Esso van when I was learning to drive - for better or worse!

Every winter he would always go to Mexico or Cuba after closing the family cottage in Muskoka where he had many friendly neighbors & we can't forget good ole St.Louis for their chicken wings, a favorite of his.

Many who knew my father knew his huge passion for baseball and shared his choice games live of certain teams at the Skydome over the years & I'll always cherish that very much along with his love for my dear deceased mother Helen Margaret Veronac Zmud.

I would like to express deep heartfelt thanks to St.Johns Rehabilitation hospital staff especially nurse Iryna, Stella & personal support caregiver Iryna all from the Ukraine who went over & beyond in caring for my dear father.
