Maria Francesca DiBratto

It is with great sadness that the DiBratto Family announce the passing of Maria Francesca DiBratto (nee Zannella). Widow of the late Teodoro DiBratto. Born in Campodimele, Latina, Italy Maria immigrated to Canada (Toronto) via Elis Island in 1952. She married the love of her life Teodoro in 1953. Maria was the proud Mother to Filomena, Salvatore (Sherlita), Pasqualina, Giovanni, and devoted Grandma/Nonna to Marco Teodoro. The only child of the late Filomena Zannella (nee DiFonzo) and Giovanni Zannella; Maria counts her brother and sister in laws as her siblings; Onorato, Dolores, Guiliano, Teresa, Emilia (late Ermilindo), Giuseppe, and Ines (late Luigi).

Maria led a fulfilling life of service and devotion to her faith, family and friends. On Christmas Day she was blessed to be united with her divine Lord. She had many spiritual experiences and believed in the power of Love. She would share her sage advice and would often repeat “Once you have light, don’t hide it under the table; keep it above to shine for everyone to see.” Maria shone her light brightly for all to see.

The family would like to thank the staff of Chartwell Gibson Retirement Residence, the PSW’s from Bayshore Home Health and Dr Prabhat Bakshi for their loving care, and support.

In lieu of Flowers Maria’s wish was for you to consider demonstrating a random act of kindness, no matter how small, in her memory. If you please, share with the family via email.
