Moufid Zakaria Saïd

Moufid Zakaria Saïd passed away, with his sons at his side, on April 13, 2022 at Mackenzie Health a few days after a heart attack while working in his garage. He is survived by his children and their families, including his beloved grandsons, Jaden and Mekai Saïd. He is also survived by siblings Nabil, Wedad, and Mohkles, and many beloved in-laws, nephews, nieces, and their growing families.

Mr. Saïd rejoins in eternal life, his wife Salwa (née Mohareb), parents Zakia Shenouda Wasef and Zakaria Yacob Saïd, his siblings Berty (Blanche), Mourad, Saïd (Fifi), Kamelia (wife of Nabil), and Narges (wife of Mohkles).

We will remember Moufid as a devoted, kind, and amiably stubborn man to the end. I mean, what’s he doing working in his garage at 92?

The family thanks doctors and staff at Mackenzie Health, cardiologist Dr. Gilbert Wu, and family physicians Dr. Allan Brown and Dr. Sharanya Rajendra for their compassionate care over the years.

Visitation will be held at 11am on Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church, 41 Glendinning Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario. Funeral service will take place at the same location at 12pm.

Following the service, we will proceed to Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, Dad would have suggested donations to St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church. He might also have recommended his most recent favourite, a Costco hot dog and a Mountain Dew.
