Mrs. Nancy Aiko Shin

Shin, Nancy Aiko (nee Edamura) - Passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto on January 27, 2016 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Ross Hiroshi Shin. Loving mother of Kevin (Vivian Carter), Dale (Ian Reid), Trevor (Anne Marie nee Howcroft), and Allison. Dear sister of Hank Edamura (Shirley), May Shintani (Roy), Ray Edamura (Caren), June Edamura (Donald Ross) and Joanne Schroeder (Chris). A great joy in her life were her 7 grandchildren, Olivia, Erin, Cameron, Kathleen, Rachel, Cailea and Megan. We are thankful for the wonderful example Nana set, as the most loving and supportive wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. We would like to thank the staff at St. Michael's Hospital for the outstanding care they provided. A special thank you to Dr. Morris Freedman (Baycrest Hospital), Dr. Hedy Steinberg and Riena Sadoma (PSW). We are forever grateful. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home - North York Chapel, 6191 Yonge Street (south of Steeles) on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Inurnment to be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations to JCCC, Momiji Health Care Society or Community Living Georgina would be appreciated by the family as your expression of sympathy.
