I was so sorry to hear about Rog. We loved his stays here at our house in New York during the summer. He was so thoughtful, sweet and loving. May he be at peace.

I can remember the first time l met Roger … while in line checking into our Cuban hotel. He commented on my ‘cat’ bag that he really liked.
With others we met in the line,  we gathered for meals the next day … and for the remaining days after that on the beach & for the nightly entertainment.
Our Crazy Cuban Crew was born and we would find ourselves gathering each month for a couple years, then less frequently until before Covid , it was annually at Roger’s Christmas Open House party which was always special.
Shortly after a Cuban trip,  Roger was celebrating  a milestone birthday - his 50th - and was not sure where he could gather with his friends. I offered my house that was recently built, and had not yet used the stove or oven - this passed the litmus test for a ‘satisfactory venue’ for Roger 😉. This was a very special and memorable event for everyone who attended: Roger’s art was displayed on the walls in a side room, a slideshow of his life was played throughout the night, the  vibe was spectacular and the celebration a grand success. For years later, stories of Roger’s 50th were repeated with fond memories.
 Another example of Roger’s adventurous nature was when he & I went to Cuba. One afternoon, Roger came running onto the beach requesting that l come with him into town because his credit card was rejected. - he wanted me to use mine - so we rushed back into the waiting taxi to the restaurant with the owner waiting impatiently. I was confident that my card would work so when we processed the transaction, and it too was rejected, we were both in disbelief thinking we’d be spending the rest of the day washing dishes! One card rejected maybe, but TWO?! It was stressful as Roger had to make several calls to his Toronto bank to get the funds. After scratching our heads in disbelief we realized that before our trip we both bought an on-line açai supplement promotion which was fraudulent-unbeknownst to us, our banks blocked both our cards! Such crazy fond fun! 🥰

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Roger passing. Roger was not only talented and dedicated collegue, but truly a caring and generous person. His kindness, professionalism, and good spirit touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing how deeply Roger was respected and cherished by those who worked alongside him. Find comfort in knowing that he is in a happy place and very much still part of the family.

I was heartbroken to hear of Roger’s passing. He had such a bright, bubbly personality and a sense of humor that could light up any room. His laughter was contagious, and he had a way of making everyone around him feel at ease and full of joy.

My dear Uncle RoRo as I would often call you in celebration of your delightful Quinn whom you adored.  You LOVED your family and friends and most of our conversations surrounded the heart warming moments you shared with them. 

 This news comes with great sadness knowing that I will only hear your laughter deep within my heart going forward.  

I  am blessed to have had the opportunity to work along side you for many years and it means more than you will ever know (or maybe you do know).  You made the days that much brighter with a sense of humour like NO other.  You knew how to turn my frown upside down as we often laughed uncontrollably at seemingly strange things only we could appreciate.  Thank you for making my experience in the industry enjoyable, forcing me to look at it through your glasses Roger!  I so appreciated the colours of your spirit and will always hold them dear to my heart.  You gave me lashes and transformed my personality instantly as we laughed the day away.  I am so grateful to have had the pleasure to hear you recite “ Blanche will you speak to this man from Johnsons”  (whatever happened to baby Jane)  “Yes this is Blanche Hudson -what seems to be the trouble” over and over again without ever getting tired of hearing you say it.   Thank you Roger for always being kind, for reminding us all -why we chose a creative career-and to always cherish the seemingly mundane of moments as  they are all memorable.    We adore you.  May your family be comforted during this difficult time. Rest in peace my beautiful friend.

Roger was always a “hoot” to work with.  I was in costumes for 30yrs.
and in the last few years of my career I worked with Roger often. We
always had a few laughs  or rather, he always made me laugh while on what could be at times a stressful set.  My prayers to his family and his very good friend, Andy, who I know will miss him terribly.

It's hard to know where to start.  Our cousin Rog has left us.

Jen you have been a stalwart sister and caregiver to Roger.  Always helping him and taking care of whatever the current challenge was.   I'm sure he took great comfort in knowing you and Tamara were always there for him.  
Roger was in our lives since we were all little kids.  I remember him putting on a puppet show for us at the house on Horsham Avenue.   We all grew up together and even sometimes skipped school together!  We ventured to bars together and just had lots of fun and laughs.  The years passed and we all got busy with our lives and saw less of each other but, whenever we did manage to connect it was always fun.   Roger will be so deeply missed by everyone. massive foodie.  Great baker, he could be so silly.

Roger made everyone feel seen and  always shone a light on others, this photo was a Roger creation, we were all rock stars that night.. thanks for always making me feel special  Roger, your thoughtfulness and kindness will be missed.

My heart goes out to everyone whose lives Roger touched. I feel so fortunate to have spent three months working alongside him on a TV series, and in that time he became so much more than just a colleague. His warmth, humor, and unfailing positivity lifted everyone around him. I am heartbroken to hear of his passing, and I will always carry the memory of his kindness with me. Rest peacefully, Roger — you will be so deeply missed.

Roger has remained, and will continue to be, a source of wonderful and magical memories impossible to match.
