Shirley Alice Ferguson

We are sad to announce Shirley Ferguson (nee McDonald), age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep

on January 12, 2026 at her seniors residence in Mississauga. She now is reunited with her beloved late

husband, Roy Stanley Ferguson.

Shirley had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh and was an accomplished pianist and vocalist.

A stay at home Mother until her children grew up, she then went to college and became a registered

nurse at the age of 42. She went to work in a home for disabled children. Let's not forget her love

of red wine.

Shirley was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and she will be deeply missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Bruce (Debbie) Ferguson, Doug (Debbie) Ferguson, Wendy (Mick)

Stoner, Murray (Denise) Ferguson, Rick (Helen) Ferguson and grandchildren, Tracy, Terry, Michelle,

Jen, Kiyomi, Miyeko, Evan, Owen, Ella and Lois, and great grandchildren, Abby, Jenna, MacKenna,

Nia, Nathan, Alfie, Miles, William and great great grandson, Reid, and all her many nieces and

nephews. She has also left behind her forever cat Fluffy Fergy (battery operated artificial cat).

A celebration of life for both Shirley and Roy to be held at a later date.
