April 6, 1939 – November 30, 2025
With profound sorrow, the family of Sook-Kyun Suk announces her passing on November 30, 2025, at the age of 86.
Sook-Kyun was born on April 6, 1939, in Seoul, South Korea. She immigrated to Canada in the fall of 1974 with her husband, Song Suk, who predeceased her on January 8, 2007. Together they raised two sons, Ian Suk (Laura Bankey) and Won Suk (Trish Tintinaglia). She was the proud halmony of Abigail, Alexander, and Maximiliano, a role which brought her immense joy.
For 30 years, Sook-Kyun worked as a dietary aide at Central Park Lodge nursing home, where her kindness, reliability, and gentle spirit were appreciated by colleagues and residents alike. She was dedicated to her work and was devoted to raising her sons, always emphasizing the importance of education and celebrating their accomplishments—especially their university graduations—with pride.
In her spare time, she enjoyed keeping up with current events, and watching the news. She spent several years involved with the Hanmaum SeonWon Buddhist Centre. After retiring, she studied Shiatsu and received a certificate of completion in which she took great pride. Above all, she found her greatest joy in cooking for and spending time with her family.
Sook-Kyun’s family was her entire world and she will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and her unwavering commitment to those she cherished.
A private service will be held by the family.
