Born to parents, Anna and Gyorgy Toth, she was the younger sister of her beloved, late brother, George.
After spending her earlier years engaged in nursing studies in Hungary, Susanna immigrated to Canada where she continued her education in healthcare and became a MDRD Technician. In 1987, she married the love of her life, Attila, and together they had a beautiful daughter, Erika. Susanna is survived by her husband of 37 years, Attila (Bill); daughter, Erika; and Godchildren (who she considered daughters of her own), Lisa and Monique.
Susan will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, and friend. She was devoted to the care and life of her family. Her daughter will never forget their weekly ritual of terrible late-night reality tv (don’t worry, Mom, I’m still keeping up with 90 Day Fiance!) and self-care. Susan truly loved her job as an MDRD Technician in the hospital, where she worked with great colleagues she cherished as friends. Susie’s truly special skill was to bring people together, she became a second “mom” to so many of her daughter’s friends through the years, fostering fierce and lifelong friendships along the way. Susan’s bright and caring personality captured the hearts of those around her; she always ensured that everyone felt and knew they were welcomed and loved. To Susan, friends and family were one in the same.
Thank you to our family and friends who have supported, cared for, and loved Susan through the years. A very special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Sunnybrook Hospital who took care of her and kept her comfortable in the final moments of her earthly journey. She is now reunited with Anna, Gyorgy, and George, along with her feline fur-babies, Pepper and Cirmus.
