It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tom (Anastasios) Telalidis on May 11, 2025, at the age of 89, one month shy of his 90th birthday. Tom passed away peacefully, surrounded by his devoted wife, Tina (Athina); his cherished brother, John Telalidis and his wife, Dimitra; and his caring brother-in-law, Aris Alexopoulos. In eternal life, Tom is reunited with his beloved daughter, Stazia Telalidis; his adored grandchildren, Ashley and Jesse; and his treasured sisters, Tula Provolisianos (Nick) and Marika Alexopoulos. Tom will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his sister-in-law, Aliki Perivolaris, as well as his many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends in North America and Europe.
Born in Florina, Greece, Tom immigrated to Toronto in 1956, seeking new opportunities. It was here that he met Tina, the love of his life and his wife of 62 years. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love, and blessed memories.
A highly skilled technician with multiple certifications in his field, Tom was industrious, resourceful, and endlessly generous. He had an extraordinary ability to fix anything, big or small, and he shared this gift freely, offering his expertise and time to family and friends alike. Whether lending a helping hand, offering advice, or providing financial support, Tom’s generosity knew no bounds—he always gave without hesitation or expectation.
Social and adventurous, he embraced life with spirited enthusiasm. In his younger years, he eagerly looked forward to annual camping trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As he grew older, his travels took him to Greece and across Europe, where he created lasting memories. In his later years, Tom spent winters in Florida, a time for quiet reflection, while honoring the memory of his late daughter and grandchildren. Through the years, Tom also found joy in the camaraderie of bowling, attending festivals, and playing cards with friends from the Florina Society. Whether sharing a cup of coffee, mezze, or stories, Tom was at his happiest when surrounded by the family, friends, and community that brought him so much joy. Tom will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever held in our hearts. May his memory be eternal.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Thornhill for their exceptional care and compassion during the past couple of years.
Memorial luncheon to follow at Flipper’s Fish House (White Shield Banquet Hall), 2300 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto.
Donations in memory of Tom Telalidis may be made to the Old Age Retirement Home in Florina, Greece. Donations will be collected at church services and at the luncheon for the family to forward to Greece.
