Amelia Marie Davis

Marie was born to Weldon H Bolar & Lois Alma (Lytle) Bolar, May 21st, 1930 in Hereford, TX the town without a tooth ache.

She was very athletic as she loved playing basketball in school.

Marie married Alvin Ray Davis in Amarillo in a ceremony at the courthouse along with their best friends as the witnesses. Both couples wed that day & performed a symbolic, playful act of their partnership by pushing a wheel barrow down Main St.

Marie became a wife then Mother to Bonnie Sue Keener, Danny Lafayette Davis & Gina Gail Davis.

Marie retired from K-Mart as well as the Arlington School District. She enjoyed camping as they worked at Fun Valley, Southfork, CO as seasonal camp host. She was adventurous, truly a force to be reckoned with. She was Grandmother to 9 Grand children, 19 Great Grands & 12 Great Great Grands. She adored them all.

Even in her late 80’s she ventured alone to live on a catamaran in the Caribbean several times with her beloved Sister Lois Gene, fishing, swimming & shell collecting.

She was known and loved by her neighbors enjoying shopping & eating out telling everyone her age at 95 & the fact she still had her own teeth.

Marie passed peacefully early Wednesday morning July 30th, 2025.

Graveside Service for Marie will be Monday, August 4 at 10:00 am in Lee Cemetery Winnsboro, Texas with Rev. Perry Crisp officiating.
