Services for Christopher Columbus Colquitt, Jr., 72 of Winona, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Michael Vacca officiating. Burial will be at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery, Tyler.
Chris passed on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Winona. He was born July 4, 1949 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, to the late Christopher Columbus Colquitt, Sr. and Susie Anna Perry Colquitt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked for over 15 years as a tire builder for Kelly Springfield Tire in Tyler. After retiring from Kelly he was a driver for Martin
Transport. Chris was a man who could fix anything. He loved motorcycles, gardening, and loved being outdoors. He was a Baptist and a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Brenda Jefferson and Mary Woodley.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine Colquitt; his children, Denita Colquitt of Haslet, Leona Colquitt of Winona, Christopher Gerald Colquitt of Winona, and Gregory Colquitt of Sabine; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Charles and Roy Colquitt and a sister, Lenda Simons.
