

Curtis E. Byrd, age 67, of Tyler went home to see his Lord and Savior on November 2nd. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Perry officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Monday in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
He was born July 23, 1944 in Stonewall, Oklahoma to the late W.M. and Dorothy Killion Byrd. He had a long career in the oilfield industry and had recently retired as Regional Sales Manager for Compressor Supply & Engineering. He was a member of Friendly Baptist Church.
Mr. Byrd loved working outdoors and visiting with friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and singing with the Singing Men of Tyler. In his early years he loved working with his sons on classic cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sandra Byrd of Tyler; son and daughter-in-law Monte and Cathy Byrd of Bellville; son and daughter-in-law Tod and Susan Byrd of Emory; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Dean Byrd of Odessa; grandchildren Caleb and Hannah Byrd; and many relatives and friends.
