

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend, passed into the Lord’s arms on March 22, 2012. Doris was born on June 3rd, 1919 in Sacul. the sixth of twelve children born to Graydon and William Thomas Lloyd.
After graduating from Sacul High School, Doris married the love of her life Oscar John Horton Findley better known as “Jack”. They moved to California and lived there for 3 years. Doris missed her family so they moved back to Texas and settled in Dallas for forty plus years. After raising her two children and experiencing the loss of her husband, Jack, Doris worked for Sears & Robuck in their carpet department where she excelled. Doris received several awards for being the top salesperson. Doris had the ability to make all her clients become her dear friends, and it was through one of her friendships that she met and married Howard Houston Hinson. Doris and Howard loved to travel and toured the world as well as the U. S. many times. Upon his retirement in 1982, they made Tyler their forever home.
Doris loved the fact that Tyler was close to Sacul, Henderson and Dallas. Many of her Tyler friends became her new family.
Doris was a member of Century Literary Club, the Katherine Speas Garden Club and The Friendly Class at Marvin United Methodist Church.
Doris was a loving spouse, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graydon and William Thomas Lloyd, and her siblings: brothers; Douglas Lloyd of Sacul; W. T. Lloyd of Dallas; Fred Lloyd of Dallas; Jim Lloyd of Sacul; and Buddy Lloyd of Timpson, and sisters; Berline Secrest of Henderson; Emma Jean Holland of Nederland, Virginia Ruth Brooks of Henderson, Betty Jo Curl Deer of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Gladys Ellis Gordon Parker of Houston.
Doris is survived by her son J. Kenneth Findley and wife Annette of Tyler and daughter Jacqueline K. Findley of Springfield, MO; brother, Woodrow George Lloyd of Henderson ; grandchildren J. Kenneth Findley II of Manhattan, NY, J. Kyle Findley of Houston, Wendy Ramires of Springfield, MO, Richard Ramires and wife Stephanie of Atlanta, GA: great grandchildren, Matthew Lewis and wife Amanda of Houston, Daniel Corgey of Houston, Eleanor Corgey of Springfield, MO and Madison Corgey of Bryan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the following people who lovingly took care of Doris: Sandra Franklin, Brenda Booth, Melissa Nicholas, Carol Horne, Dr. Eric Smith, Dr. Frank Ward, Dr. Dick Ulrick, Dr. David Nichols, Dr. John Hudnall and especially Homepoint Nurse, Karen. And a special “Thank you” to those who played a loving relative on the phone, Susan Bracken, LaVerne Gallob and Vickie Martin.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Gerry Giles officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hulan Knight, Lloyd Brooks, Dr. David Lloyd, Dr. Charles Secrest, Dr. Brad Secrest, Ed Williamson and Robert Welch.
