

Frances was a devoted mother to her daughters, a caring sibling, and a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother to many. Her life was filled with love and dedication. She had a knack for ensuring that everything was just right, a reflection of her meticulous nature and care for those around her.
She is survived by her three daughters: Carla McGaughey of Tyler, Texas; Dale O’Hara of Tyler, Texas; and Robbie Folker of Tyler, Texas. She also leaves behind her brother, Gary Steele of Flint, Texas; her sister, Nancy Robinson of Tyler, Texas; as well as her loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Busby; her parents, Clarence and Lorene Steele; her brother, Carl Steele; and her son, Clarence Kirkpatrick.
Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, Frances was deeply rooted in her community. She dedicated her life to her family and faith, committing to Christ at an early age. A proud graduate of Tyler High School, she was a member of the drill team and actively participated in various extracurricular activities. She later attended Tyler Junior College, where she served on the annual staff and showcased her singing talent as a member of the Singing Apaches.
Frances was active in her community, contributing to band boosters, PTA, and other school activities. She was a well-known seamstress who created costumes, wedding dresses for her daughters, and items for plays and dances at the schools where her children attended.
In her early career, Frances worked as a bank teller, later pursuing her passion for nurturing others by owning and operating a daycare, before retiring in 1993
Frances was known for her love of all things Elvis Presley, playing bingo, and completing puzzles. These hobbies brought her happiness. She also loved traveling and exploring new places.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Tyler, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM.
Frances’s presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
