

Service for Gail “Mimi” Ray, 58, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Warner officiating. Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Gail passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 19, 2011 in Tyler after a 19 month battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She was born to Wade M. and Emma Ruth Doty in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on September 21, 1953 and was the youngest of 4 children. She has lived in Tyler for 36 years and was Commercial Lines Account Manager for BancorpSouth Insurance Services, Inc. where she had worked for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Kathy Allen.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband of 36 years, Wayne C. Ray of Tyler, son, Scott and wife Kristen of Frisco, daughter Angie Smith and husband Britt of Tyler, her precious grandsons that meant the world to her, Cason & Corbin Ray and Kaegan & Jaden Smith, one brother, Kenny Doty and wife Regina of Tomball, one sister Joyce Sanders and husband John of Tyler, several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Gail’s love, commitment and dediciation to her family, friends and work represents only a portion of who she was and why she’s loved by so many. Throughout her battle with cancer she remained strong, courageous and brave during the most trying times of her life. She was an inspiration to all that knew her and will be missed by so many.
Family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
The family would like to express special thanks to all staff on the oncology floor of Trinity Mother Frances Hospital and a special thanks to Dr. “V” and all the physicians and staff of Texas Oncology.
