GeNeil loved people and never met a stranger. In her high school yearbook, her quote was, "I'd rather run till I'm out of breath, than poke along and be bored to death," and she lived by those words.
GeNeil is survived by her loving sons, Trey Gilmer of Kapolei, Hawaii, and Michael Gilmer of Brenham, Texas; and granddaughters, Tressa Gilmer, and Michayla Gilmer.
GeNeil is preceded in death by first husband, Clyde L. Gilmer Jr.; second husband and highschool sweetheart, Kit Avery.
A time of visitation for GeNeil will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., followed by the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Hale, Larry Lewis, Billy Paul Salee, David Walker, Wayne Bland and Danny Crossley.
