

Geneva Evelyn Starr-McCaw, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at the age of 92 in Tyler, TX. Geneva was born on April 21, 1932, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Egar and Anna Mae Sexton.
At the age of 15, Geneva moved to California with her family, where she met her true love, John Starr. John had just returned from serving in the military, and he spotted Geneva working in a cotton patch. It was love at first sight. They married shortly after Geneva turned 16, beginning a beautiful 62-year marriage filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Geneva was a dedicated and loving wife to John, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. She was a proud and nurturing mother to a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her legacy will live on through her many descendants, who will always carry her memory and love with them.
Geneva’s heart was always open to those around her. She was a pillar of strength, kindness, and generosity. Her love extended far beyond her immediate family to everyone she met, and she will be remembered for her warmth, her infectious laugh, and her unwavering support of those she loved.
Throughout her life, Geneva had a significant role in the office for John’s construction company, even while being a homemaker, juggling both responsibilities well. Despite having only, a 5th-grade education , she demonstrated incredible determination and resourcefulness by making arrangements as an adult to continue her education and eventually earn her high school diploma, while balancing her responsibilities at home and in John’s business.
Geneva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Starr, son Dr. John Starr Jr., second husband LeRoy McCaw and is survived by her daughters Donna Brockett, Charlene Randall and Son-in-Law Dr. Russell Randall, grandchildren , great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on March 12th at Lloyd James at 11:00 am. All who knew and loved Geneva are invited to join in celebrating her extraordinary life.
Geneva’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come. May she rest in peace.
