
James Martin Finnegan, 79, of Tyler, TX (and of Strongsville, Cleveland, OH) passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Father of Bryan (Sarah) of Rocky River, OH, Kimberly (Thomas) King of Fairfield, CT, James (Kathleen) of Cincinnati, OH and Hannah of Tyler, TX. Grandfather to Martin, Patrick, Michael, Sarah, Brendan, Bridget, Mary Clare, Eva, Theresa and Margaret. James (Jim) was born in Cleveland, OH on October 27, 1937 to the late James and Mary (Lavin) Finnegan. Brother of the late Daniel (Pat of Fort Meyers, FL), Eileen (William -deceased) Murphy of Rocky River, OH and half-brother of the late Coletta (Robert) Stonick. Uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jim attended Christ The King and Saint Joseph High School (Class of 1956). Jim earned a degree in electrical engineering from Ohio University and served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 5 at the Saints Peter and Paul Chapel in Tyler officiated by Father Kevin Young. Visitation is scheduled on Sunday, December 4 at 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home (1011 East First Street, Tyler, TX) with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. officiated by Deacon Bill Necessary.
