Jean Henry Rogers passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born to Walter W. and Helen (Ingraham) Henry on Tuesday, July 20, 1926 in Manchester, Connecticut.
She was the eldest of three girls. She spent her teen years being the 'big sister', managing the household, and assisting in the care of her grandmother after school as her mother worked outside of the home most of those years. Jean moved to Texas where she met and married Robert Leo Rogers who was serving in The United States Air Force. After twenty years, "Rog" retired from the military and they moved to East Texas. Jean's biggest passion was to become a nurse and she was fortunate to be able to embark upon her nursing career in 1962 where she spent the next thirty years nurturing and caring for her beloved patients. In her free time through the past years Jean loved gardening, refinishing furniture, sewing, arts and crafts, feeding birds and squirrels and volunteer work.
Jean is survived by her daughter Joyce Warrington and her husband Allen of Rockwall, TX and her son Dale and his wife Cindy of Monument, CO; her three grandsons, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Services for Jean Henry Rogers will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 10 am at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler officiated by Rev. Chuck Ward.
