Joyce Ruth Keller

Joyce Keeney Keller, age 90, of Tyler, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2023 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital. She was born on July 13, 1933 in Coleman, Texas, to Isaac Lee and Mary Hartman Keeney.

Joyce graduated from Coleman High School in 1950, then attended Tarleton Junior College in Stephenville, Texas as a business major. She worked for a finance company in Abilene until she met her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Lawrence Keller. Joyce married Charles in Abilene, Texas on August 1, 1953. Joyce, along with her husband Charles, lived in Abilene, San Antonio, Tyler, and Houston where she was a merchandiser for American Greetings for 25 years.

Joyce and Charles, were members at the Shiloh Road Church of Christ for over 30 years, where she was a proud member of the Prime Timers Social Club and the Shiloh Singers. Joyce was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Joyce enjoyed music, singing, dancing, playing games and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Joyce never met a stranger, and could strike up a conversation with anyone she met. She had numerous friends, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lawrence Keller, of Tyler; parents, Isaac Lee and Mary Elizabeth Hartman Keeney, of Coleman; brother L.W Keeney, of Farmington; sisters Mildred Keeney Hunter of Coleman; Nita Keeney Armstrong, of San Antonio; Loretta Keeney Fenton, of Coleman. Joyce is also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ruth Keller Brown, of Tyler.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Nancy Keller Bean and husband James, of Spring; son, David Charles Keller and wife Kim, of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Jordan Wayne Brown, and wife Elly, of Spring; James Tyler Bean and wife Indira, of Tomball; Daniel Patrick Bean and wife Ashley, of Tomball; Justin David Keller, and wife Halie, of Whitehouse; Sarah Bean Huber and husband Andrew, of Tomball; Ryan Charles Keller, of Whitehouse; Kelly Megan Keller, of San Antonio; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and very special friends.

Services for Joyce Keller will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 29, 2023 at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
