

Services for Ken Spearman, 80, of Emerald Bay are scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Dr. Jay Riley and Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Cathedral in the Pines under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Spearman passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 in Tyler.
He was born on April 24, 1930 in McKinney to the late Joe and Callie Jones Spearman and resided in Irving before moving to Bullard 30 years ago. He was married to Vera Spearman who died in 2000. In 1983 Ken and Vera established Spearman Construction Company and together they built more than 60 homes in the Emerald Bay area.
Ken was a loving, thoughtful and considerate man, true to his beliefs, honest in his relationships and at peace with God. Everyone he met became his friend. Those close to him loved him and will miss his smile and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Vera, son Lawrence, two brothers, one sister.
He is survived by daughters, Linda Tingle and husband Gary of Bedford, Cynthia Robinson and husband Greg of Farmers Branch, Gina Patrick of Irving, Jan Carter and husband Scott of Maypearl, son Wayne Yarbrough and wife Marilyn of Coppell, brother Jim Spearman of Boise Idaho, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four nephews.
Pallbearers are Trey Butler, Matthew Carter, Chris Tingle, Kyle Tingle, Ryan Patrick and Zane Dotson.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics, Denton area 509 North Bell Avenue, Denton, Texas 76209-4250.
