Larry passed away on August 14, 2015, in Tyler.
He was born on September 24, 1948 in Salina, Kansas to the late Phillip and Betty DeMars. He graduated from Salina High School in 1966. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and retired as a senior operator at Exxon Mobil.
Larry was a gregarious man who enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid chess player.
Larry was a devoted husband to Sandra K. DeMars. Survivors also include daughters, Heather DeMars Wiens and her husband Ryan Wiens, of Overland Park, Kansas and Courtney DeMars Bickham and her husband Luke Bickham, of Dallas; brother, Ronald DeMars, of Lindale; sister, Janet Lunderman, of Salina, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Kate, of Overland Park, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
