
Louise was born in Troup, Texas on August 12, 1927 to Wilmer and Mollie McClendon Norman. She attended school in Troup followed by Stephen F. Austin University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree. After moving to Tyler, Texas she married George M. Conner, Jr, had 3 sons, and earned her Master’s degree in Education.
Louise taught Home Economics at John Tyler High School, and later worked with Head Start and various Adult education classes. She was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church for over 50 years until its closing, and was then a member of Fairwood United Methodist Church. She also volunteered with various professional and civic organizations including Young Homemakers of America, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Pilot Club, Taste of Tyler, Holt House, and for 7 years taught Bible Study Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her youngest brother, Dan Norman. She is survived by her brother, Mac Norman and his wife, Ginny of Whitehouse; 3 sons and their wives, George and Elaine Conner of Troup, Pat and Jamie Conner of Fort Worth, Ben and Carmen Conner of Houston; 7 grandchildren, Bonnie and her husband George Villa of Dallas, Liz Rodriguez of Austin, Patrick Conner Jr. of Dallas, Jenn and her husband Raymond De La Garza of Arlington, Ben Conner of Arlington, Marcus Conner and Miguel Conner of Houston; and 5 great-grandchildren, Emilee and Ella Villa, Zoee and Luna Rodriguez, and Brayden De La Garza; and a cousin, Kenneth Ragsdale of Austin, Texas.
Viewing is Friday, December 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Lloyd James Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 4th at 1:30 pm with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. A reception will be held following the graveside service at the Homestead clubhouse, 1241 Quinby Lane, Tyler, Texas.
