“A good kid and a peachy dancer” was the way her late husband affectionately described Margaret Scott McKinney, 97, of Dallas, TX, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 11, 2013. Margaret was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was the wife of the late Jack F. McKinney and mother to Kay McKinnon, Greg McKinney, and the late Jackie McKinney. She will be remembered as loving a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend as ever there was. A true lady in every sense of the word, Margaret was seen by all who knew her as classy, sweet, and fun. She and Jack enjoyed spending time socializing with their many friends both in Dallas and at Emerald Bay near Tyler. They were ideal hosts for family gatherings from weddings to holiday celebrations. They loved traveling so much they went around the world twice. In recent years, she enjoyed the visits from grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and left a lasting impression of grace and beauty on them all. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her son, Jackie. Graveside services for Margaret McKinney will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 14, 2013 at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery. A memorial service for Margaret will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, TX at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
