Marie Elizabeth Thacker

Graveside services for Marie Elizabeth Thacker, 83 of Tyler, will be held Monday, March 14th, 2:00 pm at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery, under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Marie passed away March 4, 2022 in Tyler.

She was born August 15, 1938 in Brazos County to the late Albin F. and Elizabeth Helen Simecek Quitta. Marie was a member of the Saint Paul's Catholic Church. She worked in Dallas for many years as a book keeper, and retired from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office. She loved her family and was a devout Catholic. She also loved the food channel and DIY network.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Thacker; son, Wayne Cook; brother, Joseph Quitta and sister, Louise Bailey.

She is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Oline McMeece (Douglas), Linda Banks, Debbie Smith and Patricia Smith (Roger); son, Vincent Driggers (Leslie); grandchildren, Jasi Marie Banks, Nicholas Adam Banks, Vincent Thomas Driggers, Kadie Ann Yazinski, Jean Marie McMeece, Ryan McMeece, Amy Smith, Bryan Smith, Johnny Smith, Elizabeth Cook, Jennifer Cook, Cody Cook, Collin Cook, Chance Cook and Sarah Cook; great grandchildren, Lissette, Scarlotte, Marcella, Mia, Eden, William, Barrett, Cade and Sorya; brother, Wes Quitta (Judy) and nieces and nephews, Knycie Quitta, Bo Quitta and Tammy Vale.
