Merle graduated from Jefferson Davis High School, class of 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Lowe, and celebrated 70 years of marriage in March of this year. Dennis joined the Air Force and as a devoted wife, followed him to the various locations he was stationed. Blessed with three daughters – Ginger, Dinah & Lisa, they eventually settled permanently in Corpus Christi, Texas.
It was here that Merle and the family became deeply involved in church and made life-long friends. Merle filled numerous roles at church – from teacher to church secretary and eventually greeter. She was also a faithful volunteer to the Women’s Shelter and Nursing Home ministries. All of this only served to highlight what a wonderful servant of God she was.
One thing aside from her kindness, was the laughter that surrounded her. The smile that lit up her face reflected the joy for life that she had. Her effervescence and true inner beauty is what we loved and will always remember.
Merle retired after more than 20 years working for Circle K Corporation. This was just in time to take care of the apple of her eye. Her only grandchild was born that same year; and the same love and devotion she gave to her 3 girls, was given to Brittany times 3. Being surrounded by girls, Merle was overjoyed to have two sons-in-LOVE…Mike Lohman and Randy Einhaus…they were her honorary sons.
After 51 years in Corpus Christi, the whole family made the decision to move to Tyler, Texas. Everywhere Merle lived, she gave to others. In this case, she turned her attention to feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard and the beautiful plants and flowers she grew. She never quit taking care of her family and served them to the very end.
She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Clyde McCracken and Wayne McCracken. Surviving in addition to her husband, Dennis Lowe, are her daughters, Ginger Einhaus and her husband, Randy Einhaus, Dinah Lowe, Lisa Lohman and her husband Mike Lohman and granddaughter, Brittany Lohman. Her sisters, Dovie Ivey, LaNelle Senchal and her husband Don; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to the Women’s Shelter of Corpus Christi, Texas or the East Texas Food Bank of Tyler, Texas.
