Pamela Mickey Bailey

Pam was born on January 17, 1964 in El Paso, Texas to Marion and James Neely. Upon receiving her nursing license, she spent most of her adult life caring for the needs of others and spent the last 20 plus years working at the LaPoyner School District as a school nurse. Over the years, Pam fulfilled her dream of working with young people in various ways including as a cub master with Boy Scouts, and Nurse for the Girls Scouts summer camps.

Pam was known for her warm smile and her delicious cooking. She was often found in the kitchen cooking up a dish of chicken and dumplings, jalapeño cornbread, or her crab legs and fish boil which she took to Wisconsin each time she visited.

Pam enjoyed traveling with friends and family over the years. She loved the beauty of places visited like Alaska, Branson and Pictured Rocks Michigan. Pam really enjoyed a day on the lake fishing. She was even known to out fish her brothers and sisters.

Pam was a devoted mother to Casey Bailey and Patrick Bailey who were her pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren Ryly (Toot) Markham and Bailey (Mama) Albright who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Marion Minnie Gorlewski, father James Neely, stepfather Frank Gorlewski and brother James (Jimmy) Neely Jr.

She is survived by her sisters Gloria (Dennis) Ortiz, Christine (Jerold) Perkins, Cynthia Lynn Neely , her brothers Ken Kossman, Dan Kossman, John Timothy (Lisa) Neely, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation for Pamela will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East First Street, Tyler, TX 75701. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00PM. A committal service will follow at 3:30PM at Cathedral In The Pines Memorial Garden, 7825 S Broadway Ave, Tyler, TX 75703.
