Paul Evans Appleby

Military graveside services for Paul Evans Appleby, 91, of Tyler are, scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with Dr. Paul Powell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mr. Appleby passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in Tyler.

He was born on May 23, 1924, in Springfield, Missouri to Elvin B. and Bernice E. Abernathy Appleby. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, the Oak Cliff Lions Club in Dallas and the Tyler Lions Club. He was formerly employed by Sears Roebuck Company and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps.

He is survived by his son, Tim Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter, Linda Potter of Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughters, Anna Bailey of Mission, Kansas, Laura Jane and Cameron Linn of McPherson, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Maya Bailey, Emery Bailey, Takoda Linn and Jackson Linn; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Neita Jane McCarter Appleby; and brothers, W.R. Appleby and Elvin Appleby.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M., Friday, August 7, 2015, at the funeral home.
