
Services for Russell C. Cox, 88, Emerald Bay, Bullard are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Emerald Bay Community Church with the Rev. Jay Riley and Rev. Rufus Pollard officiating. A private burial will be held prior to the service with Masonic Graveside Rites, under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Russell was born April 26, 1924 in Huntingburg, Dubois County, Indiana to Heber C. and Lula Mae Ragle Cox. He graduated from Huntingburg High School in 1942. He graduated from Rose Polytechnic Institute, now called Rose Hulman in December 1947 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Before graduating from Rose he served in the U. S. Army for 33 months and he was in the OSS until discharged from the Army in December of 1945. Upon graduating from engineering school hw went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company and various subsidiaries and served in numerous locations until retirement in May of 1985.
On September 21, 1947 he married Margaret E. Bowman and they were happily married until her death in September of 2007.
He was a 66 year member of the Masonic Lodge with present membership in Bullard Masonic Lodge No. 785 A.F & A.M. and a member of the Bullard Order of the Eastern Star No. 972.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his parents, brothers Donald Cox, Roy Cox and Harold Cox.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be The Golden T’s.
