

Thurston “Jeff” Stamps Young, age 77, of Arp, passed away in the early evening hours of Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at East Texas Medical Center, after a brief illness. Thurston was born on April 13, 1935 in Ben Wheeler to Scott Alvin and Missouri Cordy Carrol Young, they preceded him in death. Jeff, as he became known, proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life and best friend, Peggy Jean Terry, on November 13, 1965 in Edom. Together they spent the next 47 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories. Jeff will be remembered for his hard work, much of his working time spent in the oil field and finally the last 23 years working in security, and his dedication to always being on time and doing everything he said he was going to do, but those who really knew Jeff will always remember the love he had for his precious wife and family and grandchildren.
Jeff is survived by wife Peggy; children, Linda Lou Young of Tyler, Timothy Brian Young of Arp, Russell Lynn Young, and wife Victoria, of Tyler, Treva Young-Wells of Arkansas, Teresa Young-Quinn of Arkansas, and Jeffery Bryan Young of Tennessee; and by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and special friends.
A memorial service for Thurston “Jeff” Young will be held at 1:oo P.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
