William David Hatchett

Bill went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2018, in Tyler.

He was born on March 9, 1922, in Ft. Worth to the late John H. and Alma Ingle Hatchett.

Bill joined the US Navy in February 1942 and was placed in the VD-1 squadron. Many hours were flown in his B-24 aircraft Geronimo. He was in the photographic squadron and the photos were used to bomb enemy positions. Bill flew thirty one combat missions while in Guadalcanal! He lived in the jungles of Guadalcanal which were bombed night and day for many months.

He met his wife Era Deanne Hardin, from Quannah, TX and were married on June 8, 1946. They had two daughters and were married almost sixty three years.

Bill loved his heavenly Father and read his scriptures every morning and prayed every night. He loved his family so much, enjoyed his life and loved to dance. He was the jitterbug king and never missed an opportunity to show his talents.

He leaves behind his two daughters Jeanne Paull and Janie Yearout; two grandsons Jeff Paull and Mike Yearout; two great-grandchildren Alexis Paull and Caden Paull; and a sister Johnnye Harrington.
