Evangelina Menendez, 90 of Union City passed away on Friday 10/23/2009. She came from Cuba in the 1950's and lived in New York City for many years before settling in Union City. She worked for many years as a seamstress in the Hoboken area, though her primary life was that of wife and mother.Evangelina was the beloved wife of the late Mario Menendez and the devoted mother of; Senator Robert Menendez, Reinaldo Menendez and Caridad Gonzalez. She is also the cherished grandmother of; Ronald Gonzalez, Rochelle Menendez, Alicia Menendez and Robert J. Menendez as well as the great grandmother of Erica and Alexander.The funeral will be on Tuesday 10/27/2009 at 11am with the interment to follow at Weehawken Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Leber Funeral Home, Union City, NJ.
