To my forever brother in law & compadre , I will always carry you in my heart. You were an amazing person with a big heart. Always willing to help someone , no matter the circumstances . Thankful & blessed to have such wonderful memories together  that we will cherish forever. Thank you for always being you , always being present & loving us the way you did. Joey was a great person, always looking to help and never would say no to anyone. He was a local hero to many and inspiration to us all. Joey was a student of mine, he was also my friend, he was a tremendous basketball player but most of all he was a caring and loving person 🙏

I thought my wedding day was going to be a wash out because of the storm, but every step of the way you told me not to worry everything was going to be alright. Now I hear your voice telling me the samething. Oh how you are missed. Rest in peace. I love you. 

Safe Haven in Washington School. A few of us basketball players were into wrestling and low key so was Joey lol. The boys started to wrestle one day , Joey jumped in and never looked back lol. We would set up the cheerleading mats and go crazy lol. Thanks for being a big brother to us and always making sure we were good. You’re going to be missed. Love you always brother. My deepest condolences to your entire family. 

What can I say my love. I truly believed I would have more time with you. I honestly gave it my all. I poured my heart and soul and even more to try to keep you with us, but I know there was only so much I could do.  I would do it again 1000 times and have no regrets, because there will never be another man like you to walk this earth again. Your shoes are to big to fill. I could only hope that you took with you all the love I gave you, because my heart will be forever broken beyond repair. 

I came to the states from DR 1994 that summer I when to Emerson HS. Back then I was a decent basketball player so I though I was know by my hops. Then I saw joey (White MJ)
I was blown away. I have never seen a white boy Dunk only in the movie white man can't jump. Lol from that day on our friendship began. An amazing person call on Joey he was always there. RIP my brotha. Til we meet again. 🙏🏾🥺

You will be deeply missed so much, this picture was taken at my birthday and I've known you since I was in diapers but until we meet again we could talk about the Yankees.

Joey, what can I say. I’ve known you and your family for the past 17 years. You have been a wonderful, caring and loving husband and  father but most of all for your community.  You were always there for anyone who needed your help. So many people talking highly of you just show what kind of a person you truly were and still will be because your legacy and the memories you created along the way will be here to keep you alive. Dayanara, Dayna and Tyler are so lucky to have you. You were a true fighter and warrior until the end. All I can say is may God grant strength and comfort to all your families. Now you are their Angel. Make sure to always walk by their side to protect them. Gone but not Forgotten. RIP Joey 🙏

Easy to remember how you died so instead I want to remember how you lived. I will forever hold the memories as a little boy carrying Pat’s gear to our childhood games. Always one constant, Joey and Mark on the sidelines watching their brother do his thing. I will always remember and cherish you and all the memories I have if you.
