Born on May 22, 1929, to the late Charles Introcaso, a mason contractor, and Mary (nee Polcari) Introcaso, President of the Fifth Ward Democratic Club of Union City. He shared a close bond with his late brother, Louis Mario Introcaso, affectionately known as "Bro", who passed away December 2015. Also, a proud nephew of Mario M. Polcari, Esq.
Ralph is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Smith, his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Smith and Jeremy Lee Smith, and his nephew, Michael Anthony Introcaso, and grand niece, Evelyn Paige Introcaso.
Ralph attended Emerson High School, where he made several lifelong friendships with Philip and Ernestine "Tini" Yandolino, and Mary Christina Peckerman, to name a few.
He went on to attend Rutgers University for pre-law and then enlisted in the US Air Force, where he became a 1st Lieutenant, fearlessly flying jet planes, particularly T-33's. He often talked about breaking the sound barrier - the speed of sound - and the thrill of “going Mach .8”.
Ralph married his sweetheart, Eleanor Ann Introcaso, nee Flannery, of Jersey City on September 19, 1953. Together they had two children, Mary Ellen and Ralph Louis, Jr., who passed away at the age of 8. Ralph and Eleanor shared their loving marriage for 52 years.
After his career in the Air Force, Ralph partnered with his father and brother and formed C & L Construction Company, building large-scale projects, from churches and nursing homes to shopping centers and industrial buildings, many of which can still be seen throughout New Jersey.
In later years, Ralph and Louis partnered together with two hotel properties in Wildwood Crest.
Ralph also became pilot to his own private Piper Cherokee airplane at Teterboro Airport and traveled with his family to Florida, Bahamas, Cape Cod & Canada. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at Forsgate Country Club and was a fan of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Louie Prima.
He shared a special relationship with Mary Christina Peckerman and they enjoyed many years of happiness together later in life.
Over the years, Ralph has also shared a special relationship with family members, including The Polcari’s, The Palombini’s, The Donnarumma’s, The Adamo’s, The Introcaso’s, The Lateano’s, The Graney’s, and The Flannery’s.
Ralph was a man of integrity and honor. He was often referred to by his family and friends as "a gentleman’s gentleman” and left a lasting impression on the younger generations, and the many lives he touched. He was a man of his word and was extremely thoughtful and generous. He cared for his family/friends and would always lend a helping hand and go out of his way to show love and support however he could. He was also a really fun person to be with, and could tell a great joke and light up the room with his personality.
Whenever we would part, he'd always repeat a phrase that a nun used to sing to him at sunday school when he was a kid, "Be always kind and good". It was simple, but it sums up the way he lived.
Ralph's Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday, June 13, from 4 ~ 8 PM at the Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, N.J. A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 14 at 12:00 PM at Our Lady Of Fatima, North Bergen.
