Vincenzo Porta

Vincenzo Porta 97, of Union City, passed away on Tuesday 5/5/15. He was born in Molfetta, Italy where he served as Sargent in the Italian Army and lived for many years in Union City. He was a self-employed Master Painter. Vincenzo was an avid soccer fan, passionate Gardner and devoted member of Societa-Unita Club.

He was the beloved husband of 77 years to Marta Porta (nee. Bellifemine) and the devoted father of Rose Lucignani and husband Fausto, Jacqueline Cormio and her late husband Michele and Salvatore Porta and wife Angela. He was the loving grandfather of Sandra Della Fera and husband David, Patrick Lucignani and wife Meghan, Cristina Fowler and husband Patrick, Robert Cormio and wife Melissa, Vincent Porta, Jacqueline Patino and husband Daniel and Nicholas Porta as well as 8 great grandchildren. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

The funeral will be on Friday 5/8/15 at 10am from the Leber Funeral Home then to Sts. Joseph and Michael Church where at 11am a mass will be offered. The entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum. The visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO.
