Acencion was affectionately known by his family members as Chonito and by his friends and peers as Johnny. No matter what the name, he was loved by all who knew him.
Chonito spent his childhood growing up in Converse, Texas with his parents, siblings and many extended family members. Many memories were created at that small house in Converse.... A small home with a loving, revolving door. He was a kind soul who retained his childlike nature his entire life. As a child, Chonito loved playing Cowboys & Indians, chasing people around on his red bike and playing music with his favorite harmonica and guitar. Chonito had a very fun spirit and enjoyed kidding around with all. Chonito loved travelling with his family to Michigan and Minnesota as migrant workers. He also cherished the time visiting cousins in Alabama and Florida, he spoke of going back often. He also loved working around his home and helping anyone and everyone that he could. Chonito was a very hard worker and dedicated friend. He loved his time spent at Angel's Place.
Nothing was more important to Chonito than his family. He loved visiting with them and enjoyed the time spent and fun times he shared with all. Though Chonito had no children of his own, he loved all of his Nieces and Nephews with all his heart. In fact, there was a toy truck which Grandma and Grandpa bought for him from the downtown Kress Department Store many, many years ago. The truck's name was Buddy and he treasured it so much, he would only on rare occasion take it out and play with it to show Emilio Semersky, Jr. this truck and then put it away. Emilio, Jr. was only 6 years old . So, when Emilio, Jr. had his 1st son, the very 1st Semersky great grandson, Chonito gave his precious truck to Emilio the 3rd. Chonito loved his family so very much. With that being said, I can only imagine the reunion which occurred in Heaven with his parents and siblings was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ever.
Ascension was preceded in death by his loving parents; brothers Emilio, Augustine, Adolfo, Jr. and Jesus Semersky; cousins (raised as siblings) Fred, Henry and Frank Semersky.
Ascension leaves behind his 2 loving sisters; Guadalupe and Margarita Semersky; cousins (raised as siblings) Larry, Jimmy, Susie and others; numerous loving Nieces and Nephews; as well as MANY loving Cousins. Chonito was loved by many and will be missed by all. May you rest in peace dear brother, until we meet again.
